What’s a Sanky?
Our clients know us for our expertise in online fundraising…but for everyone else, what stands out first about SankyNet is our name. In 1977, Sanky Perlowin founded Sanky Communications as a direct mail fundraising organization that worked exclusively with nonprofits. Armed with shopping bags full of paperwork (she never carried a briefcase), Sanky’s infectious passion for fundraising for good causes planted the seed of nonprofit marketing and donor communications. Sanky was dedicated to excellence and ethics in nonprofit marketing and fundraising, and though she was taken from us too soon, we continue to work in the spirit of her mission. The President and CEO of Sanky Communications, Judy Maneval and Harry Lynch, respectively, worked with Sanky in the earliest days of the company and continue to helm both arms of our agency, along with Paul Habig, executive vice president of SankyNet.
Going Live
In 1998, SankyNet was born. It was a time before most fundraisers, let alone anybody, knew how integral online communications would be to the future of nonprofit fundraising and marketing. Our company was one of the first to seize the possibility and run with it. We started small – this was in the days before blogs and Facebook – but we learned fast. SankyNet has now worked with more than 50 nonprofit clients. Our services range from Web design and development to social media marketing to online advertising and brand awareness. Through it all we bring a spirit of collaboration, enterprise, and creativity to our work and our client relationships. We have launched thousands of emails and online fundraising campaigns and raised tens of millions of dollars for nonprofits; we have inspired and mobilized people to take action on everything from world hunger to women’s health to environmental protection.
The Big Picture
Twelve years in, we’ve established ourselves as a creative, energetic team willing to go the extra mile for our clients. We remain truly invested in the spirit of Sanky Perlowin’s original mission, and most of all we take pride in our work – because at the end of the day, the organizations we help are doing good in our world.
