SankyNet on tour for AIRI conference!

We were pleased to be invited to speak at the Annual Meeting of the Association of Independent Research Institutes (AIRI) in San Diego last week. Cary Thomas from The Scripps Research Institute has worked closely with us in the past, and as one of the meeting's Program Co-Chairs, he asked us to develop a presentation about how AIRI's 86 nonprofit member institutions could maximize their use of social media and technology.

After testing our audience's knowledge of social media, we highlighted a few of the popular social networks, and also discussed customizable tools that member institutions may use to foster communication among internal audiences.

It was a fantastic crowd and engaged audience... and we hear that we won the prize for the most "words per minute" of any presentation at the meeting! That must be what happens when native New Yorkers Paul Habig and Julie Ziff Sint come out to San Diego!

While the presentation was oriented to AIRI's membership of independent, nonprofit research institutions, many of the takeaways about social media marketing are useful for all types of nonprofits. You can view the presentation below or on the SankyNet SlideShare page.
