Have you ever had those moments when clicking the Facebook “Like” button for a social cause just didn’t seem quite right? (If not, that’s fine too.) After all, you may “care” about animal cruelty, but that doesn’t mean you “like” it. That’s the predicament DDB New York is trying to solve with the launch of a new sharable “I Care” button.
Working behind the scenes as we do for our clients, it was truly inspiring to step out and witness patients, field experts, scientists, medical providers, advocates, and activists come together for a day of updates on nationwide programs (like The Lupus Initiative to Eliminate Health Disparities) and planning for today’s Congressional visits.
It’s always exciting to work with a new client, especially when they share our home base of New York City. Habitat-NYC does incredible work building affordable, decent housing for families throughout the five boroughs, and we are thrilled to further their mission through integrated fundraising and marketing.
What is “content curation?” How do I know if my nonprofit is engaging proactively through social media? These are a taste of the topics covered at Social Media for Nonprofits, a touring conference packed with social media experts from both nonprofit and for-profit fields. I recently got a chance to check out the New York event on January 31 and created a Storify to share the day’s highlights with you!
In 2011 alone, we saw many exciting changes in the world of nonprofit fundraising. There is no way we can predict exactly how things will look in 2012, but based on growing trends from last year, we can give you some important developments to look out for.
Children aren’t the only ones looking forward to getting gifts for the holidays; this is also the most important time of the year for charitable giving. Making the most of this opportunity requires far more than depending on the generosity of the season or making your website red and green.
Every year on September 28th, Freedom from Hunger celebrates the brave women around the world who take part in their microfinance and education programs. Now in its sixth year, Freedom from Hunger Day kicks off a matching gift fundraising campaign as well as a month long promotion of the impact of microfinance on ending world hunger.
If you follow, support, or work for a nonprofit organization, you are probably aware of some of the changes ahead for nonprofits due to the newly approved federal budget.
